Health disclaimer
Last updated 22 October 2026
Forge is not medical advice. It is a training log and a game. Nothing in the app, from us or from a coach you connect with through Forge, replaces advice from a doctor or another qualified health professional.
Before you start
Exercise, and strength training in particular, carries a risk of injury. Talk to a doctor before starting or changing a training program, especially if you:
- have a heart, lung, joint, bone or other medical condition, or take medication;
- are pregnant or have recently given birth;
- are recovering from an injury or surgery;
- have not exercised for a long time.
While you train
- Stop straight away and seek medical help if you feel chest pain or pressure, severe breathlessness, dizziness, faintness, or sharp or unusual pain.
- Learn correct technique, warm up, use a spotter or safety equipment for heavy lifts, and choose loads you can handle safely.
- Rest and recover. Rewards, streaks and challenges in the game are never a reason to train when you are injured, unwell or exhausted; Forge does not punish you for missing a day.
What the numbers mean
Estimated one-rep maximums, volumes, records and suggested programs are calculated from what you enter. They are estimates for tracking progress, not targets you must reach, and they can be wrong.
Coaches
Coaches who use Forge are independent of us. We do not check their qualifications and are not responsible for their advice. Use your own judgement and tell your coach about any condition or injury.
Your responsibility
You use Forge, and train, at your own risk. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for injury or loss arising from exercise you do while using Forge. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
